In February 2010, PEP Housing broke ground on Toussin Senior Apartments, located in Kentfield, Marin County. This 13-unit development has been arranged in a two building scheme to maximize the spectacular views for the most tenants. Green and sustainable concepts have been incorporated into the site design, building orientation, and material specifications for the project.  The site will be provided with permeable walking surfaces, rain water dispersement structures, and proper planting to provide water conservation throughout.  The roof areas of the two buildings are oriented as to provide large south facing portions which will accommodate in the most efficient fashion installation of photovoltaic roof panels. The community room roof will incorporate a living roof.  The units have large south facing windows with shading features that will allow the sun to warm their interiors in the winter yet block this solar gain in the summer.  Material specifications have been chosen based on the balance of cost and green certification. Construction of Toussin Senior Apartments is anticipated to be completed in mid-November 2010.
