PEP HOUSING WINS 2013 ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP AWARD
On December 10th PEP Housing received the Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award (GEELA), California’s highest and most prestigious environmental honor. The award recognizes PEP Housing’s sustained commitment to utilizing the latest in green building technology and energy conserving systems in its affordable senior housing developments that “conserve California’s precious resources, protect and enhance our environment and/or strengthen the economy.”
One of only 13 award recipients to receive the award, it is the second time PEP Housing has won the award. In 2009 the organization received the Sustainable Community award for its Casa Grande Senior Apartments in Petaluma. Casa Grande was the first “green-rated” multi-family project to be built in SonomaCounty. PEP Housing continues to utilize green building materials and energy conserving systems in all of its newer affordable senior housing developments.
